Junior Golf
The STPGA Junior Golf Program’s mission is to create lifelong golfers by fostering programs and tournaments for juniors of all skill levels. Through the STPGA Junior Golf Pathway, there is a spot for any junior, regardless of playing ability or experience. We believe that by placing an emphasis on Junior Golf, we not only develop high character individuals, but we have a direct impact on the future of the game of golf.
While our program has produced Division 1 athletes and PGA Champions like Jimmy Walker, our organization remains focused on creating lifelong golfers who enjoy the game and want to keep playing the rest of their life!
Dick Harmon Grant
The goal of the Southern Texas PGA and PGA REACH Southern Texas is to introduce our area's youngsters to the challenges and rewards of golf. Through the support of the Harmon Family Foundation, PGA REACH Southern Texas has created the Dick Harmon Participation Grant program to help provide top-flight golf opportunities to young men and women regardless of financial resources. The Southern Texas PGA believes the opportunity to participate in our junior golf programs should not be limited only to those who can afford to play a comprehensive junior golf schedule. Therefore, PGA REACH Southern Texas would like to offer financial assistance to those juniors who are limited due to financial constraints.
Additionally, the program has numerous partnerships with national and regional organizations to help south Texas based juniors experience golf at the highest level in Texas as well as across the country. This includes programs and tournaments like Drive, Chip and Putt, PGA Junior League, the Texas Junior Golf Alliance, the Legends Junior Tour, and the Junior PGA Championship.
