PGA of America REACH Foundation Southern Texas is a 501(c)3 organization focused on impacting lives and communities through the transformative power of golf. Best known as PGA REACH Southern Texas, the Foundation was formed in 1994 and annually impacts thousands of individuals.
Our Foundation stands on four pillars: junior golf, college scholarships, PGA HOPE, & employment opportunities. By focusing on these pillars, PGA REACH Southern Texas strives to uplift, inspire, and empower individuals to reach their full potential.

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2025 STPGA COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
PGA REACH Southern Texas has announced the recipients of its 2025–2026 scholarships, awarding a total of $394,500 across 87 scholarships to 78 deserving students. This initiative continues our organization’s long-standing commitment to supporting the academic goals of students, with over $2.68 million awarded since the program began in 1999.

THE PLAYER DINNER FEATURING THE GREATS OF GOLF
Insperity Invitational Scholarship recipients were honored at The Player Dinner, featuring the Greats of Golf, held in conjunction with the Insperity Invitational. Congratulations to Etta Huffman and Gabriel Garson-Goroway for each receiving a $10,000 college scholarship!

PGA HOPE
PGA HOPE is the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America. PGA HOPE introduces golf to all Veterans in order to enhance their mental, social, physical and emotional well-being.
Sessions are taught by local PGA Professionals with assistance from trained volunteers and include clubs and equipment if needed, training aids, range balls and weekly golf course access.
STPGA'S INAUGURAL APPEARANCE AT PGA HOPE SECRETARY'S CUP
The STPGA was proud to have had our first-ever team appearance at the PGA HOPE Secretary’s Cup in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This year’s Southern Texas team was led by PGA of America Member and U.S. Air Force Veteran Jamie Smith, who currently serves as a PGA HOPE instructor. Smith brings his golf expertise and unique ability to relate to fellow Veterans thanks to his retired military status.
Joining Smith on the Secretary’s Cup roster were four U.S. military Veterans:
David Cano, U.S. Marine Corps
Raimond Booker, U.S. Navy
Bradleigh Lane, U.S. Army
Darren Cormier, U.S. Air Force
The Southern Texas PGA was honored to have had these individuals represent the Section on a National Stage.

PATRIOT GOLF DAYS
This past Memorial Day weekend, we set out on a mission to positively impact the lives of the families of Veterans and first responders through the game of golf. We partnered with PGA of America Golf Professionals across the Southern Texas PGA Section to raise awareness and funds to support the lives of our nation's heroes and their families.

CIMARRON HILLS CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT
Support our veterans through PGA HOPE - Southern Texas at Golfinity at the 2025 Cimarron Hills Charity Golf Tournament! This event will take place on June 30, 2025 at Cimarron Hills Golf and Country Club featuring a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m.

JUNIOR GOLF
The STPGA Junior Golf Program’s mission is to create lifelong golfers by fostering programs and tournaments for juniors of all skill levels. Through the STPGA Junior Golf Pathway, there is a spot for any junior, regardless of playing ability or experience. We believe that by placing an emphasis on Junior Golf, we not only develop high character individuals, but we have a direct impact on the future of the game of golf.
SUMMER IS HERE!
We're excited to kick off summer and all the opportunities it brings for our players and families. With a packed schedule of competitive events, we encourage early registration as spots fill up quickly.
The season will conclude with two major championships: the Insperity Invitational Tour Championship (July 20–22 at Champions Golf Club) for Srixon Prestige Tour players, and the STPGA Junior Championship (August 5–6 at The Woodlands Country Club) for the other divisions. Join us for a summer of growth, competition, and lasting memories.

GENERAL UPDATES
2025 Charlie Epps Pro-Am
Event Date- Monday, September 22
Started in 2021, this event was put together to commence a scholarship in honor of STPGA Past President Charlie Epps. Mr. Epps has been a fixture in golf in Houston for over 40 years and continues his good work by impacting lives though golf and helping juniors further their education and get closer to their dreams!
